serial #18510, 50 RF, 32 1/2" round barrel with a fair to good bore. This rifle is one of the 1108 carbines that were altered to rifle with Stabler cutoff by Springfield Armory in 1871. This rifle remains in very nice all original condition with matching serial number on top of frame and left side of barrel breech. The barrel shows a lovely untouched smooth brown patina with just a couple small patches of light oxidation and pitting. The action and lock are also a lovely untouched patina with markings and serial number remaining crisp and fully legible. Because these begain life as carbines, there is a sling bar base on the left side with the bar and ring neatly removed. The walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent with 95% original finish remaining and with nice strong "ESA" cartouche on left side of stock to rear of sling bar base. The rifle is equipped with proper stud front sight and folding ladder rear barrel sight. (18752-10) {ANTIQUE} (2000/3000) SOLD FOR $1,725.00
