serial #4655549, 30-06, 24" 6-53 dated LMR barrel with a very good plus bore that shows a bit of light pitting toward muzzle. The metal surfaces retain 97% arsenal parkerized finish with a couple spots of parkerized-over pitting and some light fading. The walnut stock rates very good as lightly-cleaned with an added oil finish, a 1" crack on the front handguard, scattered dings and handling marks. The trigger parts, operating rod, rear sight adjustment and gas cylinder are of International Harvester manufacture but the remaining parts appear to be of mixed USGI manufacture. The "Gap Letter" Garands were so-named because of the spacing on the receiver legend and they were made using Springfield Armory receivers. A USGI canvas sling is included and there is a Federal Ordnance import mark near the barrel date. A very good example of these hard-to-find IHC Garands. (208809-177) {C&R} (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1,840.00
