20. U.S. M37 Riot Shotgun by Ithaca Gun

serial #S12037 (63300), 12 ga., 20" plain barrel bored cylinder with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this Vietnam-era riot gun retain about 92-95% original parkerizing with overall light scattered handling marks, with remnants of a bit of light oxidation staining here and there. The smooth walnut pistolgrip buttstock and grooved forend rate very good plus to excellent showing only some minor dings and handling marks, the butt has been fitted with a 3/4" Pachmayr recoil pad for a 13 1/4" length of pull. The right side of the receiver is appropriately marked "U.S." with "P" firing proofs atop the barrel and left receiver radius; receiver and barrel are both numbered alike. The factory sling swivels are intact as-is the brass bead front sight and the gun seems to function properly mechanically. The "S" prefix serial number was a Vietnam War-era addition and unique to the Ithaca 37 Vietnam riot guns contracted for the government, additionally the "government serial number" of 63300 is on the right rear of the receiver. A green web sling is included. A very good and very seldom-encountered Vietnam-era Ithaca M37 riot gun overall. (38809-64) {C&R} (2000/4000) SOLD FOR $2,645.00
