36. Early Ruger No. 1 Light Sporter Falling Block Rifle

serial #92, 308 Win., 22" light weight barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a nice AHS/S22L rifle with a low two digit serial number. The early single line address barrel retains 99% original blue. The action retains 98-99% original blue with only a tiny spot of contact wear on the bottom of the triggerguard. The hand-fitted breechblock is numbered to the gun. The checkered pistolgrip buttstock rates excellent having attractive flowing grain as does the Alexander Henry forearm with early style wrap around checkering. The buttstock and forearm are numbered "92" in black pen and the forearm hanger is marked "AH". The rifle is sighted with a gold bead ramp front sight minus the hood protector and a folding rear sight sight on quarter rib. A fantastic early low number lightweight No.1 rifle.
