serial #3792909, 30-06, 24" 5-43 dated Remington Arms four-groove barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barreled action retains 98% plus original gray-green parkerizing. The balance of the metal surfaces are blued steel rating excellent, the bottom metal showing a few and minor handling marks and light edge wear. The bolt body and its component parts are all blued and appropriately "R" marked showing only very light toning on the knob. The straight grip dual crossbolt walnut buttstock and handguard rate very good plus to excellent with scattered light handling marks showing crisp "RA" and boxed FJA inspectors markings with a slightly light ordnance wheel and circled P firing proof. There are crisp Remington inspectors initials ahead of the Remington bottom metal and the Raritan Arsenal has stamped "RA-P" on the left stock flat just over the ordnance wheel. The rifle appears untouched and just as it left Remington Arms Company in Ilion, likely only cleaned and gauged at the arsenal . Included is a stamped steel front sight protector and a 1 1/4" green web military sling. An excellent example of the Remington 1903A3 rifle as made mid-late war.
