6. Smith & Wesson K-22 Outdoorsman Revolver

serial #649637, .22 LR, 6" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this nice First Model Outdoorsman retain about 98% plus original blue, the loss being some very light muzzle wear, a light cylinder turn ring and light sharp edge wear. The hammer and trigger show excellent color case-hardening with only very light rub wear on their left and right sides respectively. The checkered walnut pre-magna style grips with silver S&W medallions rate excellent with the right grip showing a minor compression on its lower sharp edge; they are stamp-numbered to the gun. The revolver is sighted with a silver Call bead front sight and square notch black blade pre-micrometer rear. Included is a two piece red box with black and gold print marked for "The Outdoorsman", the white serial number label on the bottom is only partially present and is numbered to a revolver in the 660000 range; there are remnants of some very old penciled markings which cannot be readily discerned, they appear to be the name of a former owner (appears to read "Roger M. Berry"). The box itself rates very good with scuffed corners and edges and lightly abraded bottom. All numbers are matching. A wonderful example of a first model K-22 Outdoorsman.
