serial #2303194, 45 ACP, 5" Colt post war replacement barrel with a "C in [square]" proof mark and a near excellent bore exhibiting minor frosting in the lead. This 1945 made pistol retains strong condition with about 90% original Parkerized finish with most of the loss on the grip frame which is toning to brown along with high edge wear, a few minor spots of oxidation and pitting, scattered scratches and other handling wear. The correct checkered plastic "Coltwood" grips have the large reinforcing rings and support ribs. They rate about very good with some light chipping in the rings of the right panel plus limited and light diamond point compression. The markings remain crisp including General Guy H. Drewry's inspection mark and all parts appear correct except the slide stop is of the serrated style. The pistol includes a single two-tone Colt magazine with a pinned base but the feed lips have been lightly modified and ground. This late war Colt retains remarkable condition and is a solid investment for the martial collector. (88831-23) {C&R} (2500/3500) SOLD FOR $1,725.00
