serial #109736, .455 Eley, 7 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. This 1916 made revolver remains in lovely condition. The metal surfaces retain about 90% plus original blue with most of the loss due to edge wear on the cylinder in addition to lightly thinning finish on the grip frame, scattered high edge wear, limited pitting and oxidation stains, turn ring on the cylinder and handling marks. The trigger and hammer have very strong fire blue present with most of the loss to the hammer below the spur. The checkered hard rubber factory grips with Colt in an oval, rate excellent and are scratch numbered to the gun. The side plate is stamped with the inventory number "D8475" but there is no indication which agency may have used this gun. The lanyard loop is present and this big gun still times and locks up correctly. A fine example of Colt New Service. (88737-462) {C&R} [Dr. Louis C. March Jr. Collection] (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $2,300.00
