serial #205927, 45 ACP / AR, 5 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. This fine old warhorse has toned to mostly gray with about 30-35% original rough blue finish remaining, mostly on the frame and in the protected areas. There is a surprisingly light turn ring on the cylinder, lightly cleaned pitting on the cylinder and scattered light handling marks. There is strong fire blue remaining on the trigger and hammer with some wear from handling but the lanyard loop has toned to gray. The smooth walnut factory grips are numbered to the gun and rate about good with very little wear or handling marks but sadly the toe of the right panel has a 3/8" chip missing. The Rampant Colt, Lt. Col. John M. Gilbert's inspector mark and the other markings remain crisp. Timing and lock up of this 1919 made revolver are good and this gray New Service should make a fine shooter or a great gun to kick start your martial collection.
