serial #213, .36 cal, 6" octagon barrel with an oxidized bore. The metal surfaces of this revolver are mostly a dark plum-brown patina with silvering at the high edges, old pitting, oxidation staining and small dings throughout. Most of the screw heads show some moderate slot damage, some portions of the barrel address are still visible and the base pin is a more modern replacement that is stuck in place. There are some hairline cracks around the topstrap in addition to a period brazed metal plate repair, the topstrap had cracked straight across but the repair appears to have been very professionally executed. The smooth walnut grips are stamp-numbered to the gun and remain in very good condition still retaining some varnish and showing overall smoothing, small dings and handling marks. The cylinder stop spring is broken and the mechanism will require some attention as the hand does not advance the cylinder although the hammer does cock appropriately and the loading lever system works fine. Overall a salty example of these interesting revolvers. (138783-48) {ANTIQUE} (400/600) SOLD FOR $517.50
