serial #131889, 33 W.C.F., 24" round barrel with half magazine and a very good bore showing some light oxidation and strong rifling throughout. The barrel and magazine tube are mostly a smooth blue-gray patina with small areas toning more to brown patina, scattered freckling, couple spots of minor pinprick pitting and some tool marks on the front sight. The action is mostly a silver-pewter patina with some traces of blue remaining on the bolt and more protected areas and showing very fine pinprick pitting and light oxidation staining. The plain straight grip walnut buttstock and forend remain in very good condition as lightly refinished long ago showing a few very tiny hairline cracks at the tangs, a couple smoothed-over small chips, dings and handling marks. There is a stubborn inventory sticker "85" on the toe line, the buttstock is a little shy of the upper tang and is fitted with its original Winchester black checkered hard rubber buttplate that shows a 1" chip at the toe. The rifle is sighted with flattop sporting rear and Lyman large white bead front sights and seems to function well mechanically. Overall a rather well-used but solid rifle that will probably be a good shooter. (138909-20) {C&R} (500/700) SOLD FOR $1,035.00
