serial #244791, 38-55, 26" round barrel with an about very good bore showing some light oxidation and strong rifling throughout. The metal surfaces of the barrel and magazine tube are a mix of dark plum-brown and blue-gray patina showing remnants of older reapplied blue throughout along with some scattered freckling and small dings. The action retains about 70% older reapplied blue with overall toning to brown-plum patina showing some remnants of fine pitting underneath the blue, light oxidation staining and freckling. A number of the screw heads show some light slot damage and all of the markings are still quite clear. The plain straight grip walnut buttstock and forend remain in about very good condition showing a hastily added coat of heavy varnish, a 1 1/4" deep scratch on the right side of the forend, remnants of a sticker on the toe line, some further smaller dings and handling marks. The rifle is sighted with semi-buckhorn rear and Marble's No. 2 large white bead front sights and seems to function well mechanically. (138909-22) {C&R} (500/700) SOLD FOR $575.00
