serial #788088, 32 Winchester Special, 26" round barrel with a fair-good bore showing a few spots of moderate oxidation and good rifling throughout. The metal surfaces of this rifle retain perhaps 80% original blue showing some spots along the sides of the barrel and nosecap toning to gray patina, spots on either side of the frame and lever flaking to brown patina, some further scattered light dings and scratches. The plain straight grip walnut buttstock and forend remain in about very good condition showing a thin 2" sliver missing from the top right edge of the forend, spots of minor oil soaking on the buttstock, a few patches of shallow abrasions on either side of the buttstock, further small dings and handling marks. This rifle features an eclectic mix of period sights including Lyman tang-mounted peep sight, Lyman folding leaf No. 6 rear sight, Lyman No. 5 combination ivory bead front sight and there are five additional holes on the left side of the frame for mounting even more sighting arrangements. The mechanism seems to function very well mechanically. (138909-23) {C&R} (400/600) SOLD FOR $632.50
