Click on images for enlarged versions.

About 20 bore, 43 3/8" round barrel with an oxidized bore. The metal surfaces of this long fowler are mostly a dark brown patina showing moderate pitting and oxidation staining scattered throughout. The upper tang features some light foliate embellishments and the brass triggerguard and buttplate have mostly toned to a dark ocher patina. The buttplate tang is stamped "893". The smooth walnut sloping buttstock remains in very good condition perhaps lightly cleaned long ago showing a thin crack forward of the screw on the right side, some light staining, scratches and dings. The hammer is functional and an antique ramrod is present. (138752-4) {ANTIQUE} (400/600) SOLD FOR $373.75
