serial #139059, 12 ga., 32? matted top barrel choked full with bright about excellent bore which shows remnants of some very light oxidation and very light pitting. The metal surfaces on the shotgun retain about 98% very good quality restored blue. The barrel and magazine tube assembly show a good quality buffed finish which has not obscured any of the markings nor has it affected the three panel matting atop the barrel?s surface. The engraved receiver was hand polished very carefully so as not to affect the engraving and shows some very sparsely scattered very light remnants of light pinprick pitting, the engraving scenes left and right and the loose flowing scroll however still vivid and fully legible. Additionally there are the remnants of the oft-seen Winchester striations and a couple minor handling marks and toning to pewter here and there. The deluxe checkered walnut stock rates very good plus to excellent showing only a few minor handling marks and flakes from the years, it is a high-gloss finish showing some nice age crackling and appears to be original or a very old refinish. The forearm rates very good plus as very neatly refinished, the checkering is crisp on both pieces, appearing to have been chased on the forend. The barrel mounts solidly to the receiver and the gun seems to function well mechanically. A very nice as-refinished example overall of these rare Winchester Pigeon-Grade trap shotguns.
