serial #7498a, 9mm, 8" barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a very nice 1915-dated artillery Luger retaining about 92% original blue the most noticeable loss attributed to some spots of light pitting and toning to gray-brown patina on the right side rail along with some light high edge wear, a few spots of light oxidation staining, scattered freckling and some areas toning to gray-brown patina under bright light. The small parts retain some remnants of straw color stronger on the ejector and right side overall mostly toning to silvery patina with scattered gray freckling. The grip screws, sear spring and toggle pins likewise retain some very nice fire blue with light silvering and even the front sight and rear sight elevator still retain hints of bright fire blue. The checkered walnut grips are stamp-numbered to the gun and remain in near excellent condition showing only a few small dings, a few lightly chipped points and handling marks. All of the serialized parts including the un-grooved firing pin and finely-adjustable front and rear sights are matching and the pistol retains its long sear bar. The backstrap is stamped with a small "77."; perhaps the beginnings of a unit mark that was not completely stamped for some reason. Included with this pistol is one bright-bodied wood base magazine numbered "1176" in good overall condition showing some moderate flaking to gray patina along the body, some spots of light pitting and staining. The mechanism seems to function well mechanically and this example has no doubt seen very little use. Overall a very fine artillery Luger pistol rarely seen in such nice original condition.
