serial #A891, 44-40 Win, 24" round barrel with full magazine and a near very good bore that shows some light wear and some scattered light pitting. This rifle features an "S" shaped lever with block letter "WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY" address with the name "KENNEDY". This is a very honest rifle. The metal surfaces of rifle retain an even gray patina overall with some traces of original finish in protected areas. The metal remains mostly smooth with just a couple of light dings near the loading gate. All markings remain clear and legible. The plain walnut stocks rate very good with some added finish and with handling marks. The mainspring screw in the lower tang is a replacement and now enters from the exterior, the hole has been opened somewhat and the screw is not a gun screw. The rifle is sighted with a German silver blade Rocky Mountain front and standard open sporting rear. A good solid example of the round barreled Whitney Kennedy rifle.
