serial #3131048, 30-06, 24" 10-42 dated Remington barrel with a good bore that shows several patches of moderate pitting but strong rifling. The metal surfaces retain 80% arsenal parkerized finish with the loss mostly due to overall fading, some light pitting on buttplate and the rear band exhibiting slot damage. The two-bolt stock rates very good with an added oil finish, a faint ordnance wheel cartouche, a partially faded "RLB" cartouche, a strong "RA-P" rebuild marking, a strong circled "P" firing proof, a crisp "1206/S" marking on right side of butt, some scratches from band removal on underside, a few dings and scattered handling marks. All of the marked parts appear to be correct and a military tan leather sling is included that shows some crazing and flaking. A very good example of a Remington 1903 rifle.
