44. Bergmann Model 1910 Semi-Auto Pistol by Pieper

serial #14509, 9mm Bergmann, 4" barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing perhaps a hint of frosting. The metal surfaces of this commercial pistol retain about 88% original blue thinning evenly throughout with moderate high edge wear, some spots of pinprick pitting, scattered freckling, a few scratches on the left side frame and small areas toning to gray-brown patina. The small parts are mostly a silvery-gray patina with light freckling and the extractor retains some faint remnants of fire blue. The checkered walnut grips are both numbered to different pistols and do not quite fit the frame perfectly but remain in good condition showing moderate smoothing overall, worn finish, small dings and an older repaired crack on the interior of the left panel. The gun is marked with Pieper's address on the left side as well as numerous Belgian proofs and there are no other markings that would indicate use by a military entity. One original magazine is included and the pistol seems to function well mechanically. Overall a very nice example of these interesting and early semi-auto pistols. (138737-31) {C&R} [Dr. Louis C. March Jr. Collection] (2000/3000) SOLD FOR $1,840.00
