serial #56702, 12 ga., 30? barrels choked a tight modified and a light full with bright excellent bores which show remnants of some very sparsely scattered very light pitting here and there. The barrels retain 98-99% top-quality restored rust blue and feature dual ivory beads. The early pin frame is rather nice retaining about 85 to perhaps 90% original color case-hardening, toning to pewter on the edges of the fences and carry point of the frame. The triggerguard shows restored blue, no doubt done at the time the arm was restocked. The shotgun was perfectly restocked in a nice grade of English walnut with a capped grip and flawlessly executed borderless panels at grip and accenting panels on stock cheeks, the forend with a lovely wrap-around pattern. Both buttstock and the beavertail forend show some stunning grain figure and rate excellent to as-new, clearly restocked by a craftsman of some talent; there is a tiny gap around the periphery of the forend iron where it meets the forend but it is otherwise unobtrusive. The length of pull to the 1/2? basketweave Pachmayr pad is 14 1/8? with drops of 1 1/2? and 2?. The gun locks up tightly and seems to function well mechanically. A very attractive pin frame Fox for the fall uplands or pheasant fields. (38905-2) {C&R} (700/900) SOLD FOR $1,265.00
