serial #50249, 351 SL, 20" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces of this rifle retain about 94% original blue with light high edge wear, a few errant freckles, small scratches, handling marks along the barrel and the barrel starting to tone to plum under bright light. The smooth walnut forend and pistolgrip buttstock remain in very good plus condition showing some lightly flaking varnish around the high edges, a very thin 1/2" hairline crack on either side of the buttstock near the frame junction, some minor scratches, dings and handling marks. This rifle is equipped with sling swivels, hooked charging handle and is sighted with a Marble's No. 2 front sight missing its bead insert and a Lyman tamp-mounted peep sight; the rear sight dovetail on the barrel is vacant. One original magazine is included and the mechanism seems to function well mechanically. A very nice example overall in an above average state of condition.
