serial #300205, 16 ga., 30? Krupp steel barrels both choked a tight full, with bright excellent bores, the right tube showing a tiny ding 10? from the muzzle. The barrels retain about 85% to perhaps near 90% original blue, the loss is due primarily to even fading showing toning to pewter at the muzzles with some very light pinprick pitting at left and right of the bead; there are the expected minor scratches, or handling marks from the years with toning at the breeches. The lightly A-grade engraved frame retains about 75 to perhaps 80% original case colors, most vivid beneath the fences, toning to pewter on the carry point with the fences a dull gunmetal gray showing some light oxidation staining left and right. The checkered walnut capped pistolgrip buttstock rates excellent as does the checkered splinter style forend, both appearing professionally refinished with the checkering very neatly chased. The length of pull to the checkered hard rubber buttplate is 14 1/4? with drops of 1 5/8? and 2 9/16?. Lockup is still Fox-tight and the top lever is still very right of center. Overall a super, long 16 bore A Grade, with a wonderful look, that swings lovely, just waiting to go back afield this fall. (38902-2) {C&R} (2000/2500) SOLD FOR $2,760.00
