790. British Webley Mark VI Double Action Revolver

serial #440504, 45 ACP, 6" barrel with a mostly bright very good plus bore showing some light frosting throughout. The metal surfaces of this revolver retain about 88% arsenal quality reapplied blue with some high edge wear, silvering along the cylinder, spots of light oxidation staining, freckling and the triggerguard and gripstraps toning to brown. Many of the screw heads show some light slot damage and the revolver has no doubt been arsenal refurbished as most of the markings are no longer visible although the barrel is dated 1919 and is matching the frame. The left side of the barrel is also stamped with a rather large "INTERARMS" import mark, the backstrap has a unit marking "F. A / 5. 40" as well as illegible remains of what appear to have been an inscription. The black checkered hard rubber grips remain in very good condition, the right panel showing a 1" chip at the base and only some further smaller dings, light staining and handling marks. The shaved cylinder is mismatched and the stud on the mainspring where it connects to the frame has broken off although this does not appear to have a negative effect on function as timing and lockup are still excellent. Barrel-to-frame fit shows just a hint of play and the lanyard ring is intact. Also included is a tan canvas World War Two era holster in near excellent condition showing some spots of light staining.
