996. French M26 Adrian Helmet with German Markings

Click on images for enlarged versions.

This is a French M26 Adrian helmet with a dark green paint. The exterior shows a few dents, scattered flaking and oxidation. The interior has the same paint, shows scattered flaking, scuffing and oxidation. The liner shows overall crazing, some flaking and dust staining. The pads in the liner appear to be different texture than one another. The chinstrap shows some soiling and crazing from the years. There is no French badge present on the helmet and there is a white paint "IV/26" number on the left side likely a Volkssturm marking. An interesting helmet likely repurposed by the Germans in the closing days of the war. (207879-440CN) [Craig Brown Collection] (/) SOLD FOR $201.25
