.45 cal, 1 3/4'' barrel with a lightly oxidized bore. The barrel shows a nice original plum brown patina with random pewter tone bronzing. There is a simple dovetailed German silver front blade sight and there are dual inlaid silver bands at the breech. The breech features a star marking on its left diagonal flat, an additional star marking on the side of the bolster and a sunburst marking atop the barrel flat; the tang shows some nice loose open scroll. The lockplate and hammer show some nice loose open scroll engraving and are primarily a pewter patina. German silver hardware includes a nicely engraved triggerguard bow, pineapple finial triggerplate extension, barrel wedge escutcheons, cap splash plate, and a long graceful flowing sideplate. The shield shaped monogram plate, teardrop butt inlay and triangular nosecap inset are all very lightly borderline engraved. The walnut stock rates fine showing flaking original varnish with wear on the high edges and contact points, the checkering still very nice with only a couple very minor chipped points. The lock is crisp and mechanically functional. Overall a quality-made copy from one of the imitators and coat-tail riders of Deringer's fine pistols. (38751-23) {ANTIQUE} (1200/1800) Sold For 920.00
