1121. Scarce Hungarian 43M Bolt Action Rifle by FEG

Click on images for enlarged versions.

serial #C-13120, 8mm Mauser, 24'' barrel with a good plus bore that shows scattered pitting but strong rifling. The metal surfaces retain 80-85% original blue with the front band being a gray patina with a couple spots of light pitting, further pitting on bolt and overall flaking to brown. The beech stock rates very good as lightly refinished long ago with an added oil finish, the beginnings of a 1 1/2'' hairline crack on the right side of action and scattered light handling marks. The safety and front band are mismatched, all other visible parts are matching to the barrel with the fonts of the buttplate and bolt matching each other. A correct front sight hood is present that appears to be original and no cleaning rod is included. A very good example of a seldom-seen World War Two era rifle.
