serial #9829h, 9mm, 4'' barrel with a very good bore showing light oxidation and strong rifling throughout. The metal surfaces of this 42-dated pistol retain about 95% original blue with high edge and holster wear, a few small spots of light oxidation staining and freckling. The ejector is the typical plum patina with some areas of the frame also toning to plum under bright light. All of the markings are quite crisp and clear. The black checkered Bakelite grips are correctly un-numbered and remain in near excellent condition showing a few lightly chipped and compressed points. All of the serialized parts including the grooved firing pin are matching. Included are a single correct fxo-coded magazine stamped with two ''(Eagle) / 37'' Waffenamts and an original black leather flap holster. The magazine shows some operational wear, scattered freckling and a small chip at the base. The holster is dated the same as the pistol, 1942, and is cea-coded (Heinrich Thiele, Dresden) with a soft but visible Waffenamt and ''P.08'' on the back surface. The holster remains in very good plus condition, the finish on the front surfaces is thinning to brown and there are scattered light scuffs, minor staining and cracking of the strap. The stitching is strong and the buckle is intact. This is a very nice and highly desirable ''black widow'' rig. (139010-135) {C&R} [Dr. Jess P. Lewis Collection] (2000/3000) Sold For 2415.00
