serial #941/015228, .44 cal, 8'' octagon barrel with a shiny about excellent bore. The nickel finish rates about very good, it has a very pleasing patina. There are signs of light freckling, handling marks and a turn ring on the cylinder. The case-hardened trigger and hammer show an interesting dark green tone and the triggerguard has a pleasant dull goldenrod patina. The smooth walnut grips are about very good, there are handling marks and slight losses of finish concentrated on the bottom of the panels. Lovely foliate scroll pattern engraving covers the majority of the nickel surfaces and the bottom of the triggerguard. The engraving has been done by Weldon E. ''Big Bill'' Lister, he has signed the underside of the barrel ''WEL''. Mr. Lister was a well-known engraver from the San Antonio area. (228864-29) {ANTIQUE} (1200/1800) Sold For 3220.00
