serial #E615, 45-60, 26 3/8'' octagon barrel with full magazine and a fair bore showing moderate oxidation and worn rifling throughout. This rifle features a special order barrel that indeed measures a bit over 26'' overall and is marked with the single line italicized ''WHITNEYVILLE ARMorY, CT. U.S.A. KENNEDY'' address. The metal surfaces are a mix of gunmetal and gray-brown patina showing spots of light to moderate pitting and scratches scattered about. The nosecap screw head shows moderate slot damage and the markings have softened but are still mostly visible. The plain walnut stocks remain in good condition having darkened from the years and showing some remnants of older added finish, a thin 1 1/2'' crack left of the upper tang, a superficial 2 1/2'' crack on the right side butt, some scattered old shallow chips and dings throughout. The rifle is sighted with the standard sporting rear, German silver blade front and seems to function well mechanically. A solid and interesting example overall. (138315-96LTS162) {ANTIQUE} [Lewis T. Steadman Collection] (1000/1500) Sold For 1610.00
