serial #3744c, 9mm, 4'' barrel with a good bore showing light oxidation and frosting in the grooves but strong rifling throughout. The metal surfaces of this pistol retain about 85% older reapplied blue showing high edge wear, gripstraps and scattered areas toning to gray-brown patina and some spots of light pinprick pitting underneath the finish. The straw color on the small parts has been refreshed at some point but remains quite strong overall with minor silvering and some evidence of cleaned pinprick pitting. The markings are mostly still visible with soft ''droop wing'' eagle proofs and the ''GESICHERT'' safety mark re-stamped at some point. The checkered walnut grips are stamp-numbered to the gun and remain in very good condition showing a small chip behind the safety, light scattered staining and a few lightly chipped and compressed points. All of the serialized parts including the grooved firing pin are matching and the pistol seems to function well mechanically. One blue-bodied aluminum base ''(Eagle) / 655'' magazine that has been re-stamped to match the pistol is included. Although a little salty this is still a solid G-date pistol.
