1279. Remington Model 8 Semi-Auto Rifle

serial #61062, 35 Remington, 22'' barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a wonderful Model 8 with date code ''CX'' on the barrel shank corresponding to April 1929. The metal surfaces retain nearly 99% original blue showing perhaps a handling mark or two along with some light oxidation staining and toning to gray-brown limited to areas of the grooved steel buttplate. The bolt is bright and all of the markings are crisp and clear. The smooth straight grip walnut buttstock and schnabel forend remain in near excellent condition retaining most of their original varnish showing a few small flakes scattered about, a small ding on the right side of the forend, some scratches at the heel and some smaller handling marks here and there. The rifle is fitted with its original factory sporting sights as well as a rear-mounted peep sight. The barrel is numbered to the frame with the full serial number on the bottom of the barrel shank and the rifle is in completely original condition, a rarity for a sporting arm of this age, with no added holes or other modifications. Really an excellent almost as-new example for the Remington collector. (138963-43) {C&R} [Tim Falvey Collection] (1000/1500) Sold For 1495.00
