serial #838855, 22 Remington Special (22 WRF), 24'' octagon barrel with a bright near excellent bore. The metal surfaces of this 1936-made rifle about 94% original blue showing some high edge wear, scattered freckling, a few small patches of light oxidation staining and operational wear along the slide arm and magazine tube. Under bright light the metal surfaces are taking on a plum patina and some portions of the markings appear to have been lightly struck but are still very clear overall. The crescent steel buttplate is stamped with a crisp Remington UMC logo and has mostly toned to a pleasant gray-brown patina. The smooth pistolgrip walnut buttstock and grooved forend remain in very good plus condition showing mostly worn finish overall, a 1/2'' ding on the right side wrist, scattered small dings and light handling marks. The rifle is sighted with standard sights and the silver bead front shows a few moderate dings. The action seems to function well mechanically and this is really a fine example in a desirable chambering. (136520-1721) {C&R} [Richard ''Stretch'' Kennedy Collection] (800/1200) Sold For 747.50
