serial #4066, 348 Win, 24'' barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a very fine long tang deluxe rifle featuring a model 98 riding bolt peepsight. The barrel and magazine retain about 95% original finish with loss due to some areas of thinning toward the muzzle. The action shows 97% original blue finish with just a little high edge wear present. The hammer, lever and nosecap all show some flaking and have over 80% original blue remaining with flaked areas showing a pleasing smooth brown patina. The checkered pistolgrip buttstock and forend rate near excellent with 95% original finish remaining with loss due to some chipping and showing some light handling marks. The checkering shows some very light wear but is still strong. The rifle is sighted with a ramp mounted beaded blade front, missing the hood, a blank in rear slot and the previously mentioned 98 bolt peepsight is in place. A nice solid example of these fine, rugged rifles made in 1936. (19010-32) {C&R} [Dr. Jess P. Lewis Collection] (3000/4000) Sold For 3450.00
