Click on images for enlarged versions.

serial #84707, 30-06, 26'' 1-18 dated Remington barrel with an about very good bore that shows scattered pitting but strong rifling. The metal surfaces retain perhaps 30% original blue with overall fading to gray and a few areas of light oxidation. The walnut stock rates good with an added oil finish, some indented VFW markings on both sides of the butt that appear to read in part ''VFW 2389'' (Charles Wesley Price Post, Pleasantville, NJ), a few abrasions, chips, scattered dings and handling marks. The bands appear to be unmarked but all other visible parts are of Remington manufacture. A solid example of a Remington 1917 that surely saw its share of service in the Great War and then did its time marching around Pleasantville, N.J. (208930-1) {C&R} (800/1200) Sold For 690.00
