serial #218902, 38-55, 26'' part round part octagon barrel with full magazine and a bright near excellent bore showing a hint of light frosting. This is an unusually-configured rifle with its part round part octagon barrel but still with a full magazine and remains in very fine overall condition. The barrel and magazine tube retain about 95% original blue showing some areas faintly toning to gray patina, a few moderate dings on the left side round portion of the barrel, a tiny spot of light pitting near the muzzle on the right side and a few light freckles scattered about. The action retains about 85-90% original bright blue showing moderate high edge wear toning to gray patina, a couple spots of pinprick pitting at the high edges and scattered scratches. The loading gate retains nice fire blue while the hammer and lever show some strong hints of case-hardened colors mostly toning to silvery patina. The crescent steel buttplate is mostly a light gray patina while the plain walnut stocks remain in very good plus condition retaining a healthy amount of original finish, more worn overall on the forend along with a few small shallow chips scattered about, light scratches and handling marks. The rifle is sighted with sporting rear sight, its elevation insert screw showing some slot damage, Lyman ivory bead front and the action seems to function well mechanically. An attractive special order rifle with an interesting combination of features. (138976-49) {C&R} (2000/3000) Sold For 2415.00
