1441. German P.08 Luger Pistol by DWM

Click on images for enlarged versions.

serial #2401l, 9mm, 4'' barrel with a fair-good bore showing some rings of moderate pitting nearer the muzzle and strong rifling. This is a mismatched pistol with the barrel and 1920-dated receiver numbered 287. The metal surfaces retain about 80% arsenal blue most of the loss localized to the barrel and receiver which show overall toning to gray patina with spots of moderate to heavy pitting scattered about and dings at the muzzle. The proof marks on the right side receiver have been curiously obliterated and this pistol likely started as an LP.08 as the rear toggle piece does not have a sight. The frame and toggle are in nicer shape overall with the small parts still retaining some strong straw color and the sear spring showing nice fire blue. The checkered walnut grips are stamp-numbered to the frame and remain in very good condition showing some lightly chipped points, a 1'' moderate ding on the right panel edge and light handling marks. Aside from the aforementioned barrel and receiver all of the remaining serialized parts including the un-grooved firing pin are matching. Included is one bright-bodied wood base magazine numbered to the gun showing a few chips along the base. (138959-7D34328) {C&R} (600/800) Sold For 805.00
