Description Update (11/08/18): Repaired 3? drying crack right side of butt stock rates about very good

serial #4316, 45-70, 26'' round barrel with a good plus bore that shows scattered oxidation and pitting but evident rifling. The metal surfaces of this first model rifle are a dull gray patina with scattered oxidation staining and the receiver showing a generous amount of the original blue finish. The horn-tipped walnut stock rates very good plus with a small hairline crack at the upper tang, scattered dings and handling marks. The rifle is sighted with a folding ladder rear sight and a gold blade front sight. There is a sling stud on the toeline and on the underside of the forestock. A very good example of these early Winchester bolt action sporting rifles. (208315-138LTS175) {ANTIQUE} [Lewis T. Steadman Collection] (700/900) Sold For 862.50
