serial #20880, 38 Special, 6'' barrel with an excellent bore. This turn-of-the-century 1st Model target revolver remains in wonderful condition with about 90% plus original blue, showing thinning finish on the grip frame, high edge wear, very light oxidation stains, a few light scratches and turn ring on the cylinder. The service style trigger and hammer retain the beautiful case-hardened colors the factory so skillfully applied during that era showing light operational wear and thinning finish on the face of the trigger. The diamond checkered hard rubber factory grips with S&W medallions rate excellent. The grips and all appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun and it still functions as good as the day it left Springfield. The gun features a Paine black bead front sight and factory ''U'' notch adjustable rear sight. Factory records indicate this gun was shipped to Von Lengerke & Antoine of Chicago, Illinois, on March 21, 1902 as a target model. High condition target models showing only light use and good care like this one are scarce and very desirable. (88840-101) {C&R} [Roy Jinks Collection] (3000/5000) Sold For 2990.00
