serial #29292, .410 bore, 25 1/4'' barrels with bright excellent bores with no choke. This shotgun is built on a typical German over under style scalloped boxlock action with double locking underlugs and double Kersten locks. The gun is nitro proofed and the chambers measure 2 3/4'' in length. The gun has nicely formed reinforced bolsters to accommodate the crossbolt and the barrels flare beautifully to meet these bolsters. The action has cocking indicators and is game scene engraved with fox and ducks left, dog and pheasant right and the balance in fine scroll typical of Suhl made guns. The belly of the action is marked ''GEBR. ADAMY / SUHL GERMANY / DIAMOND GRADE'' and the top of the barrel rib has a 3'' x 1/8'' open field within the matting for the importers name which was never added. The condition of the gun is fabulous with the barrels retaining 98% original blue finish. The action retains 95% original color case-hardened finish which has just faded slightly and has a wonderful appearance. The triggerguard retains 97% original blue finish with nice scroll engraving. The checkered straight grip buttstock and three-piece forend are of beautifully figured European walnut and rate excellent with checkering on wrist and forend and with nice checkered panels on either side at action with a tasteful scalloped border. The forend terminates in a narrow and subtle schnabel tip with a fine horn inlay at the tip. The stocks rate excellent with 98% original finish and with sharp checkering. This is a very fine double gun and a previous owner commissioned a fabulous custom Huey oak and leather case for it. The case is lined in Huey's typical green suede lining with oak partitions and three covered compartments, a pair of very nice snap caps, brass oiler and cylinder container for spare parts, an ebony handled horsehair brush and turnscrew. The case has an Adamy label on interior of lid and rates excellent inside and out complete with original heavy canvas cover. The shotgun handles beautifully weighing a little under 5 1/2 lbs. and with a 14 1/2'' length of pull over its original checkered butt and according to a note card in the case, it was made in 1926. An extremely nice small bore over under gun from this fine Suhl firm. (18963-158) {C&R} [Tim Falvey Collection] (8,000/12,000) Sold For 12075.00
