1736. German K98K Bolt Action Rifle by Mauser Oberndorf

Click on images for enlarged versions.

serial #1561u, 8mm Mauser, 24'' barrel with a very good bore that shows scattered frosting. The metal surfaces of this 42 coded and 1939 dated rifle are a gunmetal gray patina with some removal dings on bands, scattered oxidation staining and traces of original blue. The laminated stock rates very good as-cleaned with the buttplate being proud of wood, a pair of faint Waffenamts on the right side of butt, a few dings and handling marks. All of the visible parts are matching with the safety, cocking piece and bolt shroud being numbered simply ''61'' in a slightly different font and all of the parts bear correct Mauser Waffenamts. A good early war K98k for the military collector. (208998-67) {C&R} (700/900) Sold For 920.00
