serial #53182, 12 ga., 30'' Krupp fluid steel barrels choked a light full in each, with bright excellent bores which show some sparsely scattered remnants of some very light pitting here and there. The barrels are a fading plum brown original blue mixing nearly evenly with a smooth pewter patina with the sparsely scattered light oxidation spots or handling marks here and there. The rib is equipped with dual ivory beads and there is light engraving on the dolls head extension with flowing bolsters beneath the barrels. The frame is a pleasing smooth pewter case-hardened patina with some light plum on its belly. The lockplates show 92% original color case-hardening and there is loose open flowing scroll and light banknote filigree engraving throughout. The lockplates show game dogs on point left and right and there is a flying duck on the bow of the guard. The triggers show some remnants of their original gold plate, cocking indicators appear to have always been bright. The checkered capped pistolgrip English walnut buttstock rates very good showing the expected minor dings and handling marks from the years but with much original varnish, and a repaired crack from right of the tang to top of right lockplate. There is a scalloped hard rubber pistolgrip cap and nice diamond-shaped bone inlays at the rear of each stock flat. The forend rates very good as well showing perhaps a bit more wear, the latch is the ''clamshell'' type of release. The length of pull to the solid orange 1'' recoil pad is 14'' with drops of 1 1/2'' and 2 1/8''. The arm seems to lock up tightly with the very faintest ghost of light visible between the breeches and the standing breech, the top lever remaining just right of center. Features automatic safety, double triggers and cocking indicators and the ejectors seem to work well when tripped simultaneously, they are weak when a single barrel is fired. An excellent field candidate that will maintain good investment potential. (39043-4) ({C&R} (4000/6000) Sold For 5462.50
