serial #531309, 22 LR, 4'' barrel with an excellent bore. This interesting little gun was factory converted from a 22/32 Heavy Target to Kit Gun configuration. The metal surfaces retain about 97% original blue finish with light high edge wear, a few scratches, turn ring on the recessed cylinder and very minor freckling. The service trigger and hammer retain bold case-hardened colors with minor operational wear. The stepped diamond checkered walnut factory grips with silver S&W medallions rate excellent but are numbered to another gun. Factory records indicate this gun was shipped with a 6'' barrel on April 7, 1921 to Scott L. Libby Company but no address is given. There is a factory rework star by the serial number and a refurbish date of May, 1947 on the grip frame. Uniquely, there are two S&W trademarks, the original on the left side of the frame and one on the replacement sideplate. All appropriate parts, including the sideplate, are correctly serial or assembly numbered to the gun, therefore it would be a safe assumption the gun was sent back for conversion to Kit Gun configuration. The single action full cock notch is worn and in need of attention. The only non-factory alteration is to the front sight that was reconfigured to include a notch in the blade. The gun includes a factory hinged purple box correctly end labeled for a Kit Gun and correctly numbered to it. The box rates about excellent with some light staining on the interior but the fiber hinged portion of the box has partially separated but is attached for its full length. A lovely Kit Gun with an interesting life cycle. (88840-62) {C&R} [Roy Jinks Collection] (2000/4000) Sold For 1495.00
