.43 cal., 31 1/2'' octagon barrel with original false muzzle and a bright excellent bore. This rifle is stocked in a lovely piece of English walnut and is otherwise all business with no engraving or other embellishments. The top flat of barrel is engraved ''A.G. GENEZ MAKER, N.Y.'' and the back action lock is engraved simply ''A.G. GENEZ''. This rifle features adjustable double set triggers, heavy scroll triggerguard and a short prong Swiss buttplate. The condition of the rifle is very nice with the barrel retaining 75% original brown finish with most loss on the front half where it has thinned and shows some scattered light oxidation staining. The back action lock, barrel breech and tang show 80% faded original color case-hardened finish with perfectly smooth surface. The stock shows wonderful figure and rates excellent with a handsome cheekpiece, flat top checkered wrist and about 90% original oil finish remaining with wood-to-metal fit remaining perfect. The original brass tipped ramrod is included held in place by a 6 3/4'' guide mounted beneath barrel at breech and with two other thimbles. The rifle is sighted with a globe target front, there is no rear seat and a folding tang mounted lollipop peepsight is present. A fine quality American percussion Schuetzen rifle by this well-regarded New York City maker that has no alterations of any kind.
