50 RF, 20 1/2'' barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barrel of this carbine is a pleasant dark blue-brown patina showing a few small scratches and minor dings scattered about. The barrel bands are mostly a smoky gray patina still showing some strong case-hardened colors. The action is starting to tone to dark brown patina showing light scattered freckling but still showing strong case-hardened colors throughout, the buttplate also showing nice colors throughout. The manufacturer markings on the left side frame are all crisp and clear. The plain walnut stocks remain in about very good condition, the most glaring issue being a patch of moderate abrasions and shallow chips along the left side butt, along with further light dings and scratches. The stocks are otherwise quite nice retaining most of their original finish and the left side wrist is stamped with a crisp ''P'' and ''GGS'' cartouche with smaller ''GGS'' inspector stamps near the heel and bottom of the forend. The original sights and saddle ring are intact and the action seems to function well mechanically. A very attractive Ball carbine. (138737-682) {ANTIQUE} [Dr. Louis C. March Jr. Collection] (2500/4500) Sold For 2070.00
