serial #42383, 38 ACP, 6'' barrel with a bright near excellent bore. The metal surfaces of this 1919-made pistol retain about 92% original blue with most of the loss due to fading to gray patina along the gripstraps, high edge wear and light scratches scattered about. The hammer retains vibrant case-hardened colors and the polished surfaces of the barrel are mostly bright. The Rampant Colt is a little lightly struck at the edges but is mostly crisp with the remaining markings crisp and clear. The black checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt and ''COLT'' at the top remain in very good condition showing some minor smoothing and a thin 1'' repaired crack at the back edge of the right panel. Included is a correct blued magazine marked ''MIL. / COLT / 38 CAL.'' on the floorplate also showing an area of moderate dings on the spine. The action seems to function well mechanically and the lanyard ring is intact. A lovely pistol for the Colt collector. (139010-124) {C&R} [Dr. Jess P. Lewis Collection] (2500/3500) Sold For 0.00
