serial #823PM01297, 20 ga., 261/2'' ventilated rib barrels choked improved cylinder and improved modified with bright, excellent bores. The barrels retain about 99% original blue that has a few, very light handling marks and is lightly toning to a very pleasing dark plum hue. The coin finished frame and remaining metal surfaces rate excellent. The frame is highly embellished and features the factory B2G foliate pattern engraving with acanthus leaf scroll and game scenes which include a pair of pheasants on the left side and a pair of mallards on the right. The engraving is signed master engraver C. Liben on the lower right edge of the left panel. The long-tang triggerguard is engraved with similar foliate patterns along the bow. The lovely French walnut stocks feature finely executed checkering and rate excellent. The slender forearm features a schnabel tip and has a full wrap-around pattern. The straight grip buttstock has a similar pattern, is fitted with a factory hard rubber buttplate and has a length of pull of about 14 1/4''. The buttstock has a single ding along the toe-line just below where the checkering ends, an easy fix for the right woodman. Features include a single selective trigger, non-auto safety, ejectors and a silver bead front sight. The original box and manual are included. Overall this is an excellent to near-new condition Superlight series double shotgun that has a wonderful look and would be an absolute joy to shoulder in the upland fields.
