serial #10212, 30 Mauser, 4'' Bolo barrel with an oxidized bore showing some evident rifling. This fascinating pistol is fitted with a matching Bolo-style upper barrel/extension and grooved 1000 meter rear sight normally seen on the early large ring Bolos, the remaining components of standard conehammer style including the bolt. It seems likely that the original upper may have been damaged and the gun was sent back to the factory for repair or that the conehammer frame was used in a sort of parts cleanup in the early 1900s. The metal surfaces retain about 85% original blue showing moderate freckling and pinprick flaking to gray-brown patina throughout, some light pitting and a few moderate dings on the gripstraps. The bolt and trigger remain bright, the hammer and fire control group toning a smooth gray patina. The small parts retain brilliant fire blue throughout with just a little minor flaking and high edge wear. The top of the breech is stamped with the ''WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDorF A/M'' address and the left side proofed with the ''(Crown) / (Crown) / U'' mark. The 23-groove walnut grips are stamp-numbered to the gun and remain in very good plus condition retaining a healthy amount of original finish and showing some scattered small dings and handling marks. There is a period blank silver monogram plate set into the left panel. The locking block is mismatched but the number is quite close to this gun (10353), the remaining serialized parts are matching and the action seems to function well mechanically. Also included is the original matching shoulder stock/holster that remains in very good plus condition showing some expertly repaired areas, a little added finish and overall dings scattered about. The screw heads show some slot wear and the hardware still retains strong remnants of original blue. A very fine and interesting example overall. (138751-43) {ANTIQUE} (6000/8000) Sold For 0.00
