serial #1095, 375 H&H Mag, 23'' barrel with a factory fitted KDF muzzle brake and a bright, excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this stunning factory special custom-upgraded bolt action rifle retain about 99% original lovely satin matte blue finish, the only loss being some light sharp edge and action race wear. The finely checkered XXX grade English walnut stock is classic style with the signature shadowline flared cheekpiece these beautiful rifles are known for. This safari grade rifle was upgraded to African specifications and features dual magnum crossbolts with ebony plugs, ebony forend tip, blued steel pistolgrip cap with Dakota Arms monogram inset, drop style magazine, Ken Howell swivel base and a 1'' pebbled face factory rifle pad for a 13 5/8'' length of pull. The stock itself rates excellent with only a small handful of very minor handling marks from light use afield. In addition to the flawlessly-executed borderless forearm wrap-around pattern, the wrist has been accented by the addition of an over-grip checkered panel with extremely fine uncheckered ribbons separating it from the borderless left and right side panels. Accenting the normal graceful, flawless metalwork, the bolt body is factory jeweled and the bolt knob has factory upgraded three-panel checkering. The rifle also features Dakota dovetail bases and Tally 30mm scope rings with Dakota African-grade sights; the rear being a very shallow notchless V express-style with a gold bead front on sporting ramp. There is an African-style barrel band sling swivel base ahead of the forend tip. There is a thin hairline crack along the left edge of the forend tip which could be easily remedied by a qualified woodman. Overall this is a super factory-custom 1995-manufactured Dakota 76 upgraded to African rifle specifications, the rifle actually having made the trip to the dark continent on two occasions accounting for kudu, water buck and numerous plains animals. A copy of the 1991-dated build sheets Dakota are included. These early Don Allen-era rifles are known for their beautiful wood and quality of fit and finish, which is unsurpassed.
