serial #232995, 12 ga., 32'' barrels choked a light full in each with bright about excellent bores which show only some remnants of some very light oxidation just ahead of the forcing cones. The Titanic steel barrels retain about 98% original blue, the loss is due to some even fading and perhaps the widely scattered very sparse handling mark here or there. The 1 1/2 frame retains 95-97% original color case-hardening, quite vivid in areas and toning in others, more silvery on the carry point of the belly with a bit of toning to plum on the radii ahead of it. Engraving remains crisp with dogs on point and flying birds. The triggerguard shows some restored blue, no doubt having faded to gray over the years, but the balance of the gun is untouched. The checkered American walnut capped pistolgrip buttstock and splinter style forend rate fine, now primarily devoid of varnish but certainly un-sanded and un-cleaned still exhibiting crisp checkering. There is a very small repair at the toe, the original piece being re-affixed and a very tiny chip at the rear of the upper tang, the original piece also appears to have been re-affixed. The length of pull to the steel skeleton buttplate is 14 1/8'' with drops of 1 5/8'' and 2 3/4''. The arm locks up tight with the top lever just starting to drift slightly left of center and barrels tightly on-face. Features double triggers, automatic safety and very robust ejectors. A top-notch 12-boomer that would be just the medicine for waterfowl or turkey. (39010-18) {C&R} [Dr. Jess P Lewis Collection] (4000/6000) Sold For 3162.50
