491. Browning Superposed Grade III Skeet Over Under Shotgun

serial #55740, 12 ga., 28'' ventilated rib barrels choked skeet and skeet with bright excellent bores. The barrels retain 95-97% original blue, the loss due to light muzzle and forearm wear and some sparse very light oxidation. The frame retains its bright silver gray finish and features typical Grade III bird engraving with fighting cocks left, pheasants on right and dog with bird on belly of the frame and is signed by Browning factory engraver Felix Funken on both left and right flats. The barrel bolsters are bright silver as well and show decorative scroll on the forend iron and bottom metal; the trigger has toned to pale gray with light traces of original gold plate along the edges. The checkered round knob walnut buttstock and field style forend rate very good with light handling marks, a couple spots of light flaking on the right side of the buttstock and a small dent above the forend screw on the right side. The buttstock has been fitted with a Decelerator solid black rubber recoil pad and spacer providing a 14 3/8'' length of pull. Shotgun features a single select trigger, ejectors and a non-automatic safety; the arm locks up tightly with the top lever at center.
